WorxInvest joins Gimv and Belfius and invests in infrastructure investor TINC
The diversified investment company WorxInvest acquires half of the stake of Gimv in Infravest, thereby indirectly obtaining a significant stake in the Belgian listed company TINC. This acquisition further expands WorxInvest’s portfolio of direct investments and underscores its commitment to diversification and support of its key participations. The transaction is subject to the usual regulatory approvals.
TINC invests in companies that are active in the sustainable development and operation of infrastructure. This includes public infrastructure such as roads and government buildings, digital infrastructure like data centers, sustainable energy solutions such as wind farms, and selective real estate.
Until the end of June, investment company Gimv, together with Belfius Insurance, held a 21.3% stake in TINC. 23 August, Gimv announced the closing of the purchase of Belfius’s stake in TINC through its subsidiary Infravest. In a second phase, upon regulatory approval of the transaction, Gimv will transfer half of its stake in Infravest to WorxInvest, and Belfius Bank will join as a minority shareholder. WorxInvest is the reference shareholder of Gimv with a 29.5% stake.
Infrastructure plays a crucial role in megatrends such as digitalization, decarbonization, healthcare, and deglobalization. Moreover, it offers an interesting diversification for the WorxInvest group. TINC is an ambitious Belgian company that has a significant role to play in these megatrends. We demonstrate the strength of our partnership with Gimv and have full confidence in the management teams of both TINC and Gimv to build this story into a success.
Thanks to the Gimv and WorxInvest tandem, TINC’s continuity is guaranteed, and we can build on tomorrow’s infrastructure. Also Belfius remains an important partner for us, both as a shareholder and as a lender for our projects. This is a significant milestone for the growth of TINC, as the imperative for investment in European infrastructure is greater than ever.
